Wearing HCD Glasses

Writer's picture: Ortal GreenOrtal Green

It is always a pleasure to introduce Human Centred Design to people who haven’t heard of it before.

As part of my work on incorporating Human Centred Design at primary schools, I facilitated an HCD introduction session for a school’s staff members.

It was great to see the teachers so engaged and having fun while learning something new.

As part of this session, I ran hands on activities, so that the teachers can experience HCD first hand.

The teachers had to design a grocery shopping experience for their peers.

A couple of days after the session, one of the teachers came to me and said –

I went to the supermarket the other night, and all I could think of is how they designed the shopping experience. I thought there were way too many “specials” signs on one of the aisles.

The world looks different when you are wearing HCD glasses
